Radio One DC fires Air Staff
Majic 102.3 Staff Exits the Building
Radio One’s WMMJ, Majic 102.3 in Washington, DC released their entire air staff today. Olivia Fox, Alvin John Waples and Mike Chase are all out. Tom Joyner the syndicated morning host stays on. Jamillah Muhammad the new PD at Majic for less then a month made the call along with Jay Stevens the Senior VP of Programming at Radio One.
Rumor has it that Arbitron’s PPM, played a part. Insiders believe that less chatter turns into higher ratings. Majic 102.3 received the latest Arbitron ratings today and the station went up to # 2 from 5 in the DC metro.
